Lordwin Lim

Lordwin Lim

Professor of Homiletics

Lordwin Lim’s upbringing in a Korean Christian Family has set a foundational belief in his life that the Gospel is relational. The belief that salvation and community is inseparable has influenced his journey from South Korea, to Virginia and Georgia in the United States, and all the way to Toronto, Canada with his lovely wife, Mooyong, and his three daughters. With the vision of planting ethnic churches in the Greater Toronto Area, Lordwin has been working with Interserve Canada, particularly Muslim refugees, and serves as a pastor at a local Korean-Canadian community Church in the GTA. He is also a member of the North America Mission Board. Lordwin is currently an Executive Director of the Canadian Mosaic Christian Alliance, a mission organization that plays an active role in church planting amongst unreached people groups.

Lordwin Lim’s journey from South Korea to North America, provided many academic opportunities. He graduated from Korea University with a law degree(LLB), which later opened doors for a Master in Divinity and a Master in Preaching and Worship at the Presbyterian University & Theological Seminary. After 5 full years of ministry at a local church in Korea, he moved to the United States to pursue his theological studies with God’s vision of missions. He completed his Master of Arts in Christian Education at Virginia Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education. Furthering his studies, he received his Th. M. in Homiletics at Emory University under the supervision of Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Long and then he came to Canada to take doctoral studies at Knox College of University of Toronto under Rev. Dr. Paul S. Wilson. His doctoral dissertation title was A Homiletics of Communal Participation in the Spirit for the Contemporary Church.

Since 2016, Lordwin Lim has been teaching at the Korean Department of Canada Christian College. The course he teaches focuses on revitalizing local churches by renewing worship, preaching, Christian Education, and local missions.
