Professor of Business Technology

Michelle Ueta is a passionate and dedicated educator, with over 15 years of teaching experience in a variety of subjects.  She committed her life to following Christ at age 14, when she read the gospel message in a teen fiction book and now has a passion for diaspora ministry, children’s ministry and discipleship.  Michelle served as a missionary for a year in a closed country in Asia and has gone on short-term missions trips to Japan and Central America. She has a heart to see the world reached for Jesus and uses her fluency in Japanese to minister to the Japanese community in Toronto.  Currently, she serves on her church’s camp committee and on the Sunday school teaching team, where she is passionate about reaching children with the amazing message of the Gospel. She also designs graphics for various events at the church, and for the Toronto Japanese Interchurch Council, where she is the Treasurer.

Prior to teaching computers, Michelle taught art at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection for over a decade and also worked at a book company.  Later, she took a position as a computer instructor at a private career college, where she also taught high school math, ESL and job skills.

Michelle started teaching computers at Canada Christian College in 2013 in the Business Department.  She strives to combine her background in ministry and business to help students develop computer skills that will help them both in their academics, and in their future ministries or vocations.

Michelle is married to Kevin, who currently pastors at the Japanese Gospel Church of Toronto.  They have 2 children, ages 8 and 6, who keep them busy!

Favourite Bible Verse

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:16-17
